Church and chapels of Modane and Valfréjus

The Notre-Dame du Charmaix chapel in Valfréjus is a must-see in the resort. Clinging to the cliff, this chapel shelters a black Virgin who is said to be miraculous. In Modane, the church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption is to be discovered. Rebuilt after the bombings of the Second World War, it offers a majestic XXth century architecture and large frescos.
