On the slopes of Mont-Thabor, west of the Etroite valley pass, the Thabor refuge is a stage of the GR5, GR57-tour du Thabor and the GTA (Grande Traversée des Alpes).

At the crossroads of Savoie, the Hautes-Alpes and Italy, Mont-Thabor 3178m offers an exceptional view of the entire Alpine massif.
This wild itinerary between lakes and scree slopes leads to a summit where the mineral landscape becomes lunar and the panorama exceptional: Grandes Jorasses, Matterhorn, Grande Casse... An overnight stay at the refuge du Thabor allows you to complete the itinerary in two stages.

  • Between the southern and northern Alps, the Thabor massif is a paradise for hikers and backpackers. A multitude of lakes, a varied geology, grandiose landscapes... At the refuge, Charline and Ludovic, a couple of friendly janitors, welcome and advise families and hikers on their way up Mont Thabor (3178 m). They will treat you to home-cooked meals based on organic, local and artisanal produce.
