Mount Tabor Refuge

On the slopes of Mont-Thabor, west of the Etroite valley pass, the Thabor refuge is a stage of the GR5, GR57-tour du Thabor and the GTA (Grande Traversée des Alpes).
Description
At the crossroads of Savoie, the Hautes-Alpes and Italy, Mont-Thabor 3178m offers an exceptional view of the entire Alpine massif.
This wild itinerary between lakes and scree slopes leads to a summit where the mineral landscape becomes lunar and the panorama exceptional: Grandes Jorasses, Matterhorn, Grande Casse... An overnight stay at the refuge du Thabor allows you to complete the itinerary in two stages.

Between the southern and northern Alps, the Thabor massif is a paradise for hikers and backpackers. A multitude of lakes, a varied geology, grandiose landscapes... At the refuge, Charline and Ludovic, a couple of friendly janitors, welcome and advise families and hikers on their way up Mont Thabor (3178 m). They will treat you to home-cooked meals based on organic, local and artisanal produce.
