Getting around in Haute Maurienne

How do you get around Haute Maurienne Vanoise to visit the villages and surrounding area Valfréjus ? Winter and summer alike, take advantage of the bus and public transport network for a low-carbon holiday. From Saint-Michel station, a bus will take you directly to Valfréjus. A train + bus ecomobility solution for skiing or hiking, without using the car. In winter, you can also take advantage of a free shuttle bus to go skiing at La Norma. Buses also run from Modane to all the other resorts in the area.

Shuttle Valfréjus-La Norma

Winter transport, internal shuttle
The Valfréjus ski pass gives access to the neighboring La Norma ski area. The two ski areas are linked by shuttle bus from Monday to Friday (departure in front of the Tourist Office at Valfréjus). Access to this bus is included with your ski pass.

Please note: the Valfréjus-La Norma shuttle is exclusively for skiers with proof of purchase of a valid ski pass.

Bus included with 6-day + ski passes

Unlimited access to all buses in Haute Maurienne Vanoise is included from Sunday to Friday with your Valfréjus-La Norma 6 jours et + ski pass! It's a simple, economical way to get around the region and enjoy the 6 Haute Maurienne Vanoise resorts (also included with your Valfréjus-La Norma 6 jours et + ski pass: 1 day's skiing in each of the other Haute Maurienne Vanoise resorts + unlimited access to Nordic areas).

Please note: for safety reasons (speed of evacuation), you cannot keep your ski or snowboard boots on your feet in the inter-station buses (S50, S51, S52 and S53). You can put them in the hold with your ski/snowboard and poles. Cross-country ski boots allowed.

      Getting from the station to your station or between stations

      Inter-station lines in summer

      From Valfréjus, take bus 1 to the Modane bus station. From here, buses serve all the villages and resorts of Haute Maurienne Vanoise, as well as the main tourist attractions.

      Buses take you to the heart of the Vanoise National Park (Bellecombe), to the unspoilt valleys of Polset and Orgère, to the superb Avérole valley and its typical hamlets on the Bessans side, or to the Iseran side, where you can climb up to the peaks and glaciers of the Vanoise.
