Le Fort du Replaton
Modane
Built to defend the entrance of the railway tunnel at the end of the 19th century. This Serré de Rivière type fort is a work of a defense system: the Maginot line of the Alps. The interior of the fort cannot be visited.
Description
The walk from Loutraz is well worth a look at the fort.
