Valfréjus one of the most easily accessible ski resorts by train.
Modane Station, located just 6 kilometers away, is served by direct high-speed trains and TER trains:
- Paris to Modane by TGV (about 4 hours)
- Lyon → Modane (about 2.5 hours)
- Chambéry → Modane (about 1 hour)
Once you arrive in Modane, it will only take you 30 minutes by bus to reach the resort.

How do I get from Modane Station to Valfréjus
Bus from Modane to Valfréjus
The Valfréjus route Valfréjus served by the S50 line in winter (and by Line 1 in summer):
- Departure from Modane Station
- Direct route to Valfréjus
- Duration: about 30 minutes
⚠️During the winter months, especially on weekends, we recommend making a reservation to ensure you have a spot.
Bus included with 6-day + ski passes
Unlimited access to the S50, S51, S52, and S53 buses, which serve the entire region from Modane, is included with your Valfréjus or longer ski pass from Sunday through Friday!
Please note: for safety reasons (speed of evacuation), you cannot keep your ski or snowboard boots on your feet on buses S50, S51, S52 and S53. You can put them in the hold with your ski/snowboard and poles. Cross-country ski boots allowed.

Getting Around by Bus in Haute Maurienne
Line 1 takes you directly to major tourist attractions:
- Saint-Benoît Waterfall: From the Avrieux Centre stop, follow the Sentier de l’Eau trail on foot for 30 minutes to reach the waterfall.
- Vanoise National Park: the Polset and Orgère valleys are right across from the resort
Line 1 also takes you directly to the Modane train station and connects with the S52-S53 bus lines, which serve other villages in the area, such as the historic village of Bonneval.
